What an interior design or products website needs
By GroverHQ · Updated
A showroom sells by letting people see and touch the product. A website for an interior designer or a products business has to do the same job on a screen: let the work speak for itself, then make it easy to start a conversation. This checklist draws on our work for Luthra Interiors, a Mohali business with a wide product range.
1. Organise products by category
Visitors browse by what they want: wall panels, flooring, blinds, wallpapers. Give each product line its own category page with a clear gallery. The Luthra Interiors site is organised across 12 product lines so every category can be found, shared and found on Google.
2. Show real work, not stock photos
A gallery of real installations and completed projects builds more trust than catalogue images. Use good photographs, name the project type, and add short captions about the space and materials.
3. Make enquiries effortless
- A WhatsApp button, since most customers want to send photos and measurements.
- An email option for formal enquiries.
- A map and clear address for showroom visits.
4. Optimise images for speed
Galleries are image-heavy, so compress and size images properly and load them lazily. A fast site keeps visitors browsing instead of leaving.
5. Write for search
- One page per product category with a descriptive title and heading.
- Include your city and service area where it is true, for example Mohali and Chandigarh.
- Add alt text to every image.
- Set up a complete Google Business Profile so you appear in Maps.
6. Keep it easy to update
New products and projects should be easy to add. Ask whoever builds the site how you will change products and photos later.
